FSCT Board of Directors Nominees
Nominees for 2008 FSCT Board of Directors set
The Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology (FSCT) has announced the slate of candidates for the three available positions on the 2008 FSCT Board of Directors.
Dr. Fritz Walker, chair of the FSCT Nominating Committee, has noted that four candidates were selected by the Committee, and one additional candidate was submitted by individual member petition.
The nominees who are elected will each serve three-year terms of office. They will join President Yasmin Sayed-Sweet, Vice President Joe Brown, Secretary-Treasurer Kevin Pelling, as well as five additional Board members who were previously elected. The candidates for the three available 2008 FSCT Board of Directors positions are:

• Chris Harding, Waterlox Coatings, Cleveland, OH
• Robert Henderson, Lonza Inc., Pittsburgh, PA
• Rick Mazzariello, Enrichem Specialties, LLC, Sandy Hook, CT
• Paul Nicholson, WhitChem Limited, Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, England.
Paul Delmonico
Paul Delmonico, vice president of Old Western Paint Co., Inc., Denver, CO, has been involved in the coatings industry for more than 23 years. He served as the Rocky Mountain Society representative on the FSCT Board of Directors from 1999-2005. A member of the Society since 1991, Mr. Delmonico twice served as Society president (2006–2007, and 1996–1997) and as chair of several Society committees. A graduate of Western State College with bachelor’s degrees in both business administration and physical education, Mr. Delmonico has been an active volunteer in youth wrestling. He served as president of the Western Suburban League (1999-2002) and is currently secretary of the Bear Creek High School Touchdown Club.
Chris Harding
Chris Harding is technical director at Waterlox Coatings, Cleveland, OH. Involved in the industry for 34 years, he is currently a member of the FSCT Board of Directors. At the Board level, Mr. Harding served as chair of the 2007 FSCT Merger Task Force and the Communications Task Force. Active as the Cleveland Society representative on the FSCT Board for six years, Mr. Harding also served on the FSCT’s Nominating Committee and its Membership Task Force. A member of the Cleveland Society, Mr. Harding was chair of its Membership Committee, and has been a member of the Society’s Technical, Symposium and Website committees. He has served as chair of the Society Education Committee since 2005. Mr. Harding attended Cuyahoga Community College and holds a two-year degree in organic chemistry, and has attended Baldwin-Wallace College, majoring in chemistry and business.
Robert S. Henderson
Robert S. Henderson is a sales and marketing manager, North America, for Lonza Inc., in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Henderson served on the FSCT Board of Directors as the Pittsburgh Society director from 2000-2005. He also served as a member of the Society Liaison Council for its first two years. A member of the Pittsburgh Society, and past member of the Cleveland and Detroit Societies, he has served as Pittsburgh Society president and membership chair. Mr. Henderson is a member of the ACS, SSPC, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He has presented many papers at FSCT, Society and industry-related events. Involved in the coatings industry for 25 years, he received an M.B.A. in industrial and international marketing from the University of Pittsburgh, an M.S. in chemical Eengineering and an M.S. in colloids, polymers and surfaces from Carnegie Mellon University, and an M.A. in teaching chemistry and physics from the University of Pittsburgh.
Rick Mazzariello
Rick Mazzariello is president of Enrichem Specialties, LLC, Sandy Hook, CT. The New England Society representative on the FSCT Society Liaison Council, Mr. Mazzariello was elected chairman of that group in 2006. In addition to the NESCT, he has been a member of the New York Society since 1993 and is also a member of the Philadelphia Society. Mr. Mazzariello chaired the NESCT Technical Committee from 1997-2006, and led the Society’s Coatings Tech Expo in 1999. He has been involved in the coatings industry for more than 30 years in various positions of technical, sales, marketing and business management. He managed the radiation curing business at Union Carbide Corp. and, as such, assisted in the establishment of RadTech International. In addition, Mr. Mazzariello has been affiliated with the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers, TAPPI, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the National Association of Chemical Distributors. Mr. Mazzariello holds a B.A. in chemistry from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College.
Paul Nicholson
Paul Nicholson is marketing director for WhitChem Limited, Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, England. Involved in the coatings industry for more than 28 years, he is currently the membership chairman and Society liaison officer for the British Society. He has played an active role on the BSCT Executive Committee, having served as president, publicity officer and honorary treasurer. A member of the Society since 1990, he now represents the BSCT on the FSCT Society Liaison Council. In his current role as marketing director for WhitChem, Mr. Nicholson acts on behalf of a number of global chemical suppliers offering products to the coatings and ink industries. He gained a first class honours degree in 1979 in colour chemistry and Colour Technology from the University of Bradford, England. Mr. Nicholson is also a member of the West Midlands section of the Oil and Colour Chemists’ Association.
Elections by the membership will be held Dec. 3-17, 2007. All FSCT members in good standing as of Nov. 30, 2007, are eligible to vote. Members may vote electronically beginning December 3 by logging into the Members Area of www.coatingstech.org to access the ballot. Members will need their user name and password. First-time users should allow 24 hours from initial log-in to access the ballot section. Members who require paper ballots are requested contact FSCT Headquarters.
Votes will be tabulated by December 21 and the results confirmed by the FSCT Board of Directors.
